The exhibition “One Hundred Years: Impressions” is a visual feast of artistic reflection and insight on the cataclysmic changes brought about by the Russian Revolution on the daily life of so many people. The exhibition neither glorifies nor condemns this great experiment in human history but speaks to the private, unspoken, sometime invisible, sometime tragic and often humorous thoughts and hopes of the people who lived and survived under that system.
The best artists of the Russian Diaspora will display their perspectives of the former Soviet system in their own unique style. Indeed, for each artist, their work is a kind of public confession, a catharsis of views too long kept in dark, remote closets.
