A fast sketch for the painting “Red Blossom”:
A woman with her bare back to a viewer: just an outline of her feminine form, crowned with a sophisticated hairdo against the generously spread crimson skirt of the blossom.
The woman’s curvy silhouette is rising from a centre of the flower, as its pistil, full of precious nectar of rare and natural beauty. Her nude hips circled with human skulls, the symbol of the wisdom of all ancestors through the turmoil of human history. The viewer can almost smell the intoxicating perfume of this exotic, yet familiar, blossom of a woman’s physical endurance and moral strength.
She is: a Mythological Goddess, a prima ballerina, a geisha, perhaps, the girl next door?
She is a great allegory of female identity with all the obvious aspects and the hidden mysteries, yearning to be explored.

Marvelous Yelena!!! I love everything about this drawing. Sexy,erotic and so very interesting the little skulls surrrounding her hip areas. This image has so many different stories some obvious and some hidden until I look again and more is revealed. Great artwork!!! A new favorite for me!
