Artist's Description
HARVEST by Adan McGovern
the serpent
was a tongue
that flickered through the true garden
opening the woman's eyes
to the universe that's hers
the man
outside, unseeing,
had to cut the root of this new voice
the flaming sword
set fire to the wild,
burning all of it away from earth
the silence he had sought
left behind him forever
roaming from one land to another
he could never tell apart
marking it with scars of boundaries
the woman
grew slowly in his trailing shadow
stretched beneath his footsteps,
a serpentine weave to hold the world as one
rose unnoticed, an oasis
shadowed, dripping life, unfolding
as the spear of the man's narrow frame
disappeared over the sharp edge of his earth.

I like it very much. Poor guy, he became a dark shadow before he could even have a bite ;-)
